Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University freshman women's tennis player Paige Wise has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 21-27, 2022.

She teamed with Hermon Mikael to defeat Coker's Jessica Binzari and Angelina Krieg 6-3 at the No.1 position to earn the doubles point for FMU after the other two doubles matches were split.  In singles play, she then defeated Coker's Tamara Macias 6-3, 6-0 at the No.2 slot as the Patriots went on to down the Cobras 6-1.

The Ballito, South Africa, native is 3-0 in singles play this season.

Francis Marion will play Tiffin University on Tuesday at 3 p.m. and Benedict College on friday at 3 p.m.
