Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University freshman men's basketball forward Nick Silva has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 10-16, 2022.

The 6-7 native of São Paulo, Brazil, averaged 17.7 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game in the Patriots' three contests last week. He connected on 56.3 percent of his field goal attempts, including 6-of-13 shots from behind the arc, while making 11-of-18 free throws.  He also recorded five steals.  His effort included a career-high 29-point output in a 73-61 road win at Erskine College.
