Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University junior women's basketball guard Scarlett Gilmore has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 2-9, 2022.

In the Patriots' only action to open the New Year, the Rock Hill, S.C., native poured in a season-high 21 points, including five three-pointers, on the road versus UNC Pembroke.  Gilmore also grabbed three rebounds and handed out one assist.

FMU's scheduled game for Jan. 11 has been postponed due to health and safety covid protocols.  The Patriots are set to play at Erskine College on Thursday, Jan. 13, before hosting Southern Wesleyan University on Saturday, Jan. 15, at 2 p.m.
