Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University women's cross country runner Annalena Griffin has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 13-19, 2021.

A sophomore from Taylors, S.C., Griffin led the Patriot Women at the Converse University Kick-Off Regional Preview Meet on Sept. 18 at Milliken Research Park in Spartanburg.  She finished the 6,000-meter race in a personal-best time of 28:39.6 to finish in 161st position and helped lead Francis Marion to a 22nd-place showing in the team standings.

FMU will next run on Oct. 8 at the Royals Cross Country Challenge, hosted by Queens University of Charlotte at McAlpine Creek Park.
