Sophomore jumper Aukeyonna Sims of the Francis Marion University women’s track & field team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Jan. 12-18, 2026.

The Darlington, S.C., native set the third-best mark in the Southeast Region and ranks first in the Conference Carolinas after clearing 1.58 meters in the high jump to place fourth at the Mondo College Invitational. Additionally, she finished 17th overall in the long jump with a leap of 5.13 meters, which sits sixth in the conference.

The Patriots will be idle for the next two weeks in preparation for the Tryon Banked Invitational on Friday, Jan. 30, in Mill Spring, N.C.
