Junior outside hitter Madilyn Gartner of the Francis Marion University volleyball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Sept. 15-21, 2025.

The Albertville, Minn., native averaged 4.25 kills and 2.50 digs per set as FMU went 3-0 last week, with three conference victories.  She registered a .254 hitting percentage and recorded one service ace and three total blocks.  She committed only one reception error in a team-high 55 receptions (for a .982 percentage) and totaled 54.0 points for a 4.50 points per set average.

Her week included a 14-kill and 9-dig performance in a 3-1 win at Barton College, a career-high 24 kills and 16 digs in a 3-2 win over defending conference tournament champion Converse University, and 13 kills and five digs with a .370 hitting percentage in a 3-0 sweep of Southern Wesleyan University.

Francis Marion will play at Chowan University on Wednesday (Sept. 24) at 6 p.m., before hosting both Erskine College (4 p.m.) and Flagler College (6 p.m.) on Friday, Sept. 26.
