Francis Marion University Athletics

Junior forward Latavian Lawrence of the Francis Marion University men's basketball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Dec.2-8, 2024.

In FMU's only game last week, an overtime road loss at Columbus State University, the Aiken, S.C., native scored 20 points and grabbed 10 rebounds, while recording an assist and a steal.  He shot 5-of-10 from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the three-point arc, and was 7-of-9 at the foul line in 35 minutes of action.

Francis Marion (3-6, 1-1) will return from its exam break with a conference road game at Barton College on Saturday at 4 p.m.
