Junior setter Mya Mendoza of the Francis Marion University volleyball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Oct. 7-13, 2024.

A native of Longwood, Fla., Mendoza averaged 10.0 assists, 1.50 digs, 0.50 service aces, 0.50 kills, and 0.50 blocks per set in a pair of 3-0 road wins last week.  She registered 29 assists, three aces, four digs, and two blocks against Converse University and 31 assists and five digs versus North Greenville University.

The Patriots will play at local-rival UNC Pembroke on Tuesday (Oct. 15) at 7 p.m., before hosting Young Harris College on Friday (Oct. 18) at 6 p.m. and Shorter University on Saturday (Oct. 19) at 2 p.m.
