Francis Marion University Athletics

Junior Ryan Hunter of the Francis Marion University men's track and field team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Feb. 26-March 3.

At the Patriots' season opening meet, the UNCW Seahawk Invitational, he recorded a qualifying mark of 49.19 meters in the javelin throw.  He finished fifth in a field of 20 competitors.

He also placed 23rd in the shot put with an effort of 9.02 meters and 23rd in the discus (22.88 meters).

Francis Marion's next meet will be the adidas Trojan Challenge Meet on March 22 at the University of Mount Olive.
