Senior forward Bryce Beamer of the Francis Marion University men's basketball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Feb. 5-11.

The Odessa, Fla., native averaged 19.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 3.0 steals, and 2.0 assists per game in two wins last week.  He connected on 55.6 percent of his field goal attempts, including 5-of-11 from three-point range, and was 4-of-6 at the foul line.

His week included 19 points and four rebounds in an 89-77 home win over the University of Mount Olive, a game that saw him shot 7-of-10 from the floor and surpass 1000 points for his career.  He finished the week by notching his ninth double-double of the season with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and five steals in a 90-87 road win over 24th-ranked Emmanuel University.

The Patriots (12-10, 10-4) will play at local-rival UNC Pembroke on Saturday at 4 p.m. in their only contest this coming week.
