WINSTON-SALEM, NC – Francis Marion University made its official debut in its inaugural season of indoor track & field on Saturday (Jan. 17) and set five Conference Carolinas qualifying marks at the Mondo College Invitational hosted at the JDL Fast Track.
The Patriots will be idle for two weeks in preparation for the Tryon Banked Invitational on Friday, January 30, in Mill Spring, NC.
Sophomore
Rileigh Lacy claimed third place in the pole vault and set the top mark in the Conference Carolinas this season after clearing 3.40 meters. She finished above multiple Division I student-athletes and is the defending league champion in the event during the outdoor season.
Sophomore
Aukeyonna Sims posted a fourth-place finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.58 meters, which ranks her first in the Conference Carolinas.

Rashawn Byrd finished 11th overall in the triple jump and hit the league qualifying standard with a leap of 13.51 meters. He currently holds the seventh-best mark in the conference.

Jazmine McDonald-Craft registered the ninth-best mark in the league in shot put following a toss of 10.77 meters to place 16th.
A product of Spring Valley, sophomore
Alex Lance finished sixth overall in the 400 meters after crossing the line in 50.47 seconds. He recorded a conference mark and sits 12th in the event.
