LATE SCHEDULE CHANGE:  The baseball doubleheader will now be on Saturday at 3 p.m. and th single game on Sunday at 1 p.m.

Francis Marion University will play host to Barton College for a key three-game Conference Carolinas baseball series this weekend (April 15-16), while the Patriot softball team will play a pair of conference doubleheaders on the road.

The FMU baseball team (22-19, 13-10) will be looking to win its 10 straight game – matching the longest winning streak since 2017 – when the Patriots meet the second-place Bulldogs (21-15, 14-7).  The Patriots are fifth in the standings, one game out of fourth and two games out of second.

The two squads will play a single game on Saturday at 3 p.m. (Baseball Alumni Day) on Cormell Field at Sparrow Stadium in the Griffin Athletic Complex, and a Senior Day doubleheader on Sunday at 1 p.m.  Twelve Patriot seniors will be recognized before the first pitch of game one.

Daily admission to the Griffin Athletic Complex is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and FMU students are admitted free with identification.

FMU head coach Art Inabinet has indicted that the probable starters will be sophomore right-hander Robbie Jordan (4-3) on Saturday and junior southpaw Chas DeBruhl (5-3) and senior righty Matt Dooley (3-0) on Sunday.

FMU leads the all-time series with Barton 31-16.

The FMU softball team (31-9, 11-5) will play twinbills at Converse University on Saturday at 1 p.m. at Tyger River Stadium, and at Emmanuel College (Ga.) on Sunday at 1 p.m.
