FLORENCE, SC – In a battle of Top-15 men's tennis programs, third-ranked Condordia (NY) College defeated 14th-ranked Francis Marion University 9-0, Friday afternoon (April 8) on the Kassab Courts.
Concordia (15-2) captured the three doubles matches by scores of 8-5, 8-4, and 8-5 en route to the win. FMU (9-6) did manage to split the opening two sets at the top two singles spots before falling.
It was the final home match for three FMU seniors: Oshada Wijemanne, Karl Rogers, and Mickey Poirier.
The Patriots' non-conference match at Anderson University on Saturday has been canceled, so FMU's next action will be on Tuesday at 3 p.m. against Coker College in Hartsville.
