Francis Marion University Athletics

Freshman Ashlynn Scott of the Francis Marion University women's track and field team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of March 18-24.

The Blythewood, S.C., native finished eighth in the triple jump at the adidas Trojan Challenge Meet on March 22 at the University of Mount Olive and in the process set a school record at 34'1" (10.39m).

She also finished fifth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 29.79 and 10th in the long jump (4.76m).

The FMU track and field squad will return to action on Saturday, April 6, at the Braves Classic Meet, hosted by UNC Pembroke.
