FMU’s Faggart selected conference Player of the Week

GREENVILLE, SC – Following an outstanding offensive performance in the 2026 season-opening tournament, senior opposite hitter Camryn Faggart was tabbed the Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Player of the Week on Monday afternoon (Aug. 31).

Faggart, a native of Mount Holly, North Carolina, earned All-Tournament Team honors at the Coker Cobra Classic hosted over the weekend after leading the Patriots in all three matches in kills. As a team, Francis Marion went 2-1 overall in the season-opening event, including an impressive reverse sweep over Valdosta State. Faggart led the Conference Carolinas with 51 total kills after reaching double-digits in every match and posting a .348 hitting percentage. She also contributed five blocks and seven digs.

On Friday, Faggart delivered a career-high 20 kills on a staggering .419 clip with three digs and one block as the Patriots won a five-set thriller over Valdosta State. The following day, she tallied 14 kills, two digs, and two blocks against USC Aiken before registering 17 kills on a .389 hitting percentage with two digs and two blocks in a 3-0 sweep over Coker.

Faggart garnered the conference Player of the Week honor for the first time in her career.

The Patriots will travel to their second in-season tournament of 2026 this weekend with a trip to the Sunshine State. FMU will face three programs featured in the preseason top 25 poll, including the host #2 ranked University of Tampa. Francis Marion will open the four-match event on Friday, Sept. 4 versus the Spartans at 11 a.m. before facing #24 University of Missouri-St. Louis at 4:30 p.m.
