GREENVILLE, SC – After averaging 4.14 points, 3.55 kills, and 4.82 digs per set, sophomore outside hitter
Haleigh Kamer was voted as the Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Player of the Week for the period of Sept. 21-27.
A native of Black Mountain, North Carolina, Kamer registered a kill/dig double-double in all three matches, as the Patriots posted a perfect 3-0 record last week in Conference Carolinas play.
On Tuesday night, Kamer contributed 13 kills with one service ace, two blocks, and a career-high 23 digs, while boasting a perfect reception percentage, in a 3-1 win over rival UNC Pembroke. Against Erskine on Friday, she produced a game-high 12 kills on an impressive .545 hitting percentage, plus 11 digs and three blocks in a 3-0 sweep on the road. The following day, Kamer finished with 14 kills, two aces, and 19 digs in a 3-1 victory at Belmont Abbey.
Kamer ranks ninth in the Conference Carolinas with 184.0 points and 158 kills.
The Patriots continue Conference Carolinas play on Tuesday, Sept. 29, with a divisional matchup at Chowan University, starting at 6 p.m. FMU will also travel to North Greenville University on Saturday Nov. 3 for a league match at 2 p.m.
Kamer is a product of Asheville Christian Academy and is majoring in biology.
