FMU Track & Field squads gain Academic Awards

The Francis Marion University men's and women's track and field squads both earned All-Academic Team status for the 2024-25 school year from the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

The USTFCCCA presented team awards to programs with a 3.0 cumulative grade point average on a 4.0 scale.

The Francis Marion men's team registered a 3.131 GPA, while the women's squad posted a 3.13 GPA.  Both FMU teams are led by head coach Mark Bluman.

Francis Marion was one of only three men's programs from Conference Carolinas to be recognized, while the women were one of only four honored.

The Patriot track and field squads are two of 10 FMU sports that garnered academic team awards this year.

On the track this past season, FMU placed eighth at the women's conference meet and 12th at the men's championships, while producing a combined four All-Conference performers and two All-Region selections.
