FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA – Francis Marion University evened its conference mark with a 6-1 road win over Emmanuel University (Ga.), Friday afternoon (March 28) in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action.
 
Francis Marion (4-6, 2-2) will play at North Greenville University on Saturday at 10 a.m.
 
Patriot freshman Fatima Hernandez Huerta and senior Sophia Hansen won at the No.2 doubles position 6-3 and freshmen Lara Lanno and Valery Gomez were victorious 6-4 at the top spot, while Emmanuel defaulted at the No.3 position.
 
Already given a 1-0 advantage after doubles, the margin moved to 2-0 with a default at No.6 singles.  FMU freshman Maia Warlies won 6-2, 6-2 at the No.5 position and Hansen provided the clinching point with a 6-1, 4-6, 6-0 victory at the No.3 spot.
 
Lanno won 6-2, 6-4 at No.2 singles and Gomez won 6-2, 6-2 at the No.4 spot to account for the other two points.
