Lucas and Johnson sweep conference weekly awards

FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University senior middleblocker Caroline Lucas and freshman setter Aubrey Johnson have been named the Conference Carolinas women's volleyball Player of the Week and Specialist of the Week for the final week of the 2025 regular season.

Francis Marion defeated the University of Mount Olive in four sets on the road to finish with a 21-9 overall record, a conference-best 18-2 mark, the East Division title, and the top seed in the upcoming conference tournament.

A native of Easley, S.C., Lucas played in all four sets and registered a season-high 23 kills, a .526 hitting percentage, two blocks, two service aces, and three digs. In the process, she moved to within four of entering the Top 5 on the FMU career kills list with 1,162, while also moving into a tie for 13th position on the career blocks list with 296.

Johnson, a native of Chanhassen, Minn., handed out 45 assists and recorded seven digs, two kills, and one block. Her assist total came on only 104 attempts for a .433 set percentage. It is the second time this season she has earned the weekly specialist award.

Francis Marion advances to the semifinals of the tournament and will next play on Saturday, Nov. 22, at 5 p.m. in Bristol, Tenn.

Lucas is majoring in biology and is a product of Pickens High School, while Johnson is a product of Minnetonka High School.
