FLORENCE, SC – Four different Patriots scored in Francis Marion University's 4-0 non-conference win over Shaw University on Saturday (Sept. 28) afternoon.
Francis Marion (4-1-2) resumes Conference Carolinas action on Wednesday (Oct. 2) against the University of Mount Olive. The Patriots will travel to Mount Olive, N.C., for a 4 p.m. kick off.
Sophomore goalkeeper
Erin Grabeel totaled two stops in goal, playing all 90 minutes for the Patriots en route to her first complete-match clean sheet. Shaw's Lindsay Poplin recorded five saves in the frame, while allowing the four goals.

Kristina Syragakis on a corner kick at 6:49.
Prior to the corner kick, Syragakis had gotten behind the Lady Bears' defensive backline, dribbled around Poplin and shot on the open goal only to have a Shaw defender throw her body in front of the attempt to give FMU the corner kick.
Junior forward Teyha Davé was the second Patriot to score, another ball delivered by Syragakis from a corner kick at the 21:01 mark. Forward
Ashley Jordan flicked on the corner kick to Dave' for the second assist.
The final two goals were scored by senior defender JC Garon at 30:04 and Syragakis at 60:32, both coming on penalty kicks.
With a large advantage over the Bears, Francis Marion outshot Shaw 15-5 with nine landing on frame. In total, nine different Patriots recorded at least one shot, while head coach
Sam Holmes was able to use 29 players during the match.
The Patriots also took six corner kicks, while the Bears recorded none.
