Lauren Baufield-Edwards recorded her 100th career win as the Patriots rallied for a 22-25, 8-25, 25-19, 25-15, 15-11 five-set road win over Barton College on Wednesday (Sept. 25) night.
Francis Marion continues its Conference Carolinas league action on the road against Belmont Abbey College on Friday (Sept. 27) and at North Greenville University on Saturday (Sept. 28) afternoon.
Baufield-Edwards has been at the helm of the FMU program for eight seasons. Baufield-Edwards earned the school's 2021-22 Frankie Award for Head Coach of the Year after guiding FMU to a 21-11 record, the Conference Carolinas East Division crown, the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship, and a berth in the NCAA Division II National Tournament. She was also honored as the conference's Coach of the Year.
Pacing the Patriots on Wednesday with 13 kills was senior outside hitter

Kaytlin Smart chipped in an additional 11 kills.

Mya Mendoza recorded her third double-double of the season with 43 assists and 10 digs. Defensively, sophomore libero
Ella Quiring (11), sophomore outside hitter
Madilyn Gartner (10), and freshman
Andrea Delcher (10) combined for 31 digs. Quiring also served a match-high six aces, while Delcher had four and Walker three.
Smart also led FMU with four blocks, and Lucas added three blocks.
Henly Sleight of Barton had a game-high of 18 kills and libero Lilly Meyer dished out 24 digs.
After rallying to even the match at two sets apiece, the Patriots never trailed in the fifth and deciding set.
