FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University won the opening set in four singles matches, but the University of Mount Olive rallied to win three of the decisions to edge the Patriots 4-3, Tuesday afternoon (March 26) in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action.
Francis Marion (4-6, 0-2) will play at 21st-ranked Erskine College on Saturday at 1 p.m.
Mount Olive (5-6, 2-1) claimed all three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 advantage.
The Trojans then claimed the first three singles matches to finish (No. 5, No.1, and No.3) by rallying after dropping the opening sets. Those victories clinched the match for UMO.

Polina Gontaryk earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No.4 singles, sophomore
Chelsea Seidewitz was victorious 7-6 (7-5), 6-2 at the No.2 position, and junior
Sophia Hansen won 7-6 (7-4), 6-1 at the No.6 spot to account for the FMU points.
