WILSON, NC – Junior forward Kristina Syragakis paced Francis Marion University with both goals against Barton College in a 2-0 road victory on Wednesday (Oct. 23) afternoon.

Francis Marion, now 8-1-4 overall, remains unbeaten in its last 11 matches, equaling the second longest streak in program history.  The Patriots improve their Conference Carolinas slate to 7-0-3.

The Patriots will return to the field on Saturday (Oct. 26) afternoon in a road match against Belmont Abbey College at 4:30 p.m.

FMU sophomore goalkeeper Erin Grabeel did not have to make a save as the FMU defense held Barton to only two shots and neither were on frame.  Barton's (4-6-3, 1-5-2) Taylor Primack tallied two saves in 90 minutes.

The Patriots tallied 14 shots, with four of those shots landing on frame. Francis Marion also took six corner kicks, while Barton had none.

Syragakis' first goal was scored in the 17th minute, unassisted, and placed in the bottom right netting for a 1-0 lead. Her second goal was assisted by freshman defender Bryn Lahart at the 43:18 minute mark.
