FLORENCE, SC – Third-seeded University of Mount Olive defeated seventh-seeded Francis Marion University 4-1 in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Conference Carolinas Women's Tennis Tournament, Saturday afternoon (Apr. 21) at the Dr. Eddie Floyd Florence Tennis Center.
 
Francis Marion ends its season with a 10-11 record.
 
Mount Olive took the doubles point to lead 1-0 after winning 6-3 at the No.2 position and 6-4 at the top spot.
 
As singles play began, FMU junior Julie Martincova evened the match at 1-1 with a 6-2, 6-4 victory at the No.2 position.  The Trojans then claimed straight-sets wins at the No.5, No.4, and No.3 rungs to clinch the match win and advance to Saturday's semifinals.
