FLORENCE, SC – Sophomore Camryn Cassetori contributed a pair of key wins as Francis Marion University rallied for a 4-3 victory over visiting Lees-McRae College, Friday evening (April 1) in Conference Carolinas women's tennis action.
 
FMU improves to 9-3 overall and 4-0 in conference play with its eighth straight win – the team's longest streak in six years.  The Patriots will host King University (Tenn.) on Saturday at 1 p.m. on FMU's Kassab Courts.
 
The Bobcats won the No.1 doubles match, but FMU rallied at both No.2 and 3 to earn the doubles point.  Cassetori and junior Gabriel Karatantcheva forced a tiebreaker at the No.3 position and then rallied from a 6-2 deficit with six consecutive points to come out on top 7-6 (8-6).  The pair is now 10-2 this season.
 
FMU sophomore Julie Martincova and freshman Sophia Hansen then provided Francis Marion with the doubles point as they rallied in a tiebreaker to win 7-6 (11-9) at the No.2 spot.
 
Patriot freshman Paige Wise opened singles action with a 6-1, 6-1 victory at the No.1 position to give FMU a 2-0 advantage.  However, the Bobcats won the No.2 and 3 matches to knot the score at 2-2.
 
Junior Hermon Mikael regained the lead for Francis Marion with a come-from-behind 1-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory at No.2 singles, and Cassetori provided the match-clinching win with a 6-3, 6-4 decision at No.5 singles.
