FLORENCE, SC – Francis Marion University lost only four games in doubles play and only one set in singles competition to sweep to a 7-0 non-conference win over Chowan University, Saturday afternoon (March 7) in men's tennis play.

Francis Marion improves to 4-3 and will host Lenoir-Rhyne University on Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Dr. Eddie Floyd/Florence Tennis Center.

The Patriots gained doubles wins by junior William Anth-Forsberg and graduate student Alex Regner at No.1 (6-2), by seniors Henri Broeseler and Mauricio Guerrero at No.2 (6-2), and by junior Matt Astell and freshman Liam Day at No.3 (6-0).

Only Regner at the No.1 position was extended to three sets (5-7, 6-1, 6-1) in singles play as Day won at No.2 (6-4, 6-3), Anth-Forsberg won at No.3 (6-1, 6-4), Guerrero won at No.4 (6-1, 6-2), junior Paul Meuwissen won at No.5 (6-1, 6-3), and Matt Astell was victorious at No.6 (6-0, 6-0).
