Box Score ST. AUGUSTINE, FL – Francis Marion University junior goalkeeper Casey Murakami registered a career-high 16 saves and in the process set a new Patriot season mark for stops, but Flagler College broke a scoreless deadlock with four second-half goals in a 4-0 win by the Saints, Wednesday night (Oct. 26) in Peach Belt Conference women's soccer action.
The contest, FMU's season finale, was the final match for three Patriot seniors: Kelly Anthony, Allie Duckworth, and Tori Whigham.
"It has been such an honor to coach our three amazing seniors," said Patriot head coach Lindsey Morgan. "They represent everything that our program stands for and are such talented athletes. We will miss them so much in the years to come, but they have been a vital part to our new culture. Thank you Tori, Allie, and Kelly."
Murakami's effort pushed her season total to 139 bettering the old mark of 125 set by Taylor O'Berry in 2015. The season total also ranks as the sixth best in Peach Belt history.
Flagler's Grace Rineer scored the opening goal at the 61:55 mark and then assisted on the squad's second score in the 75th minute. The Saints added insurance goals in the 79th and 88th minutes.
