MILLEDGEVILLE, GA – The nationally ranked Georgia College men's and women's tennis teams swept matches from Francis Marion University on Sunday afternoon (March 29) in Peach Belt Conference action. The 30th-ranked Patriot women suffered a 7-2 loss to the 15th-ranked Bobcat women, while the FMU men lost by an 8-0 decision to 20th-ranked Georgia College men.
The Francis Marion women fall to 7-5 overall and 4-4 in conference play, while the men drop to 6-6 and 2-4.
In the women's match, Francis Marion captured doubles wins at positions No.1 (Samantha Koelliker/Julia Graf) and No.2 (Christina Graf/Mona Piller), but Georgia College won the third doubles match and all six singles matches.
Both Francis Marion squads will play Erskine College at 11:30 a.m. in Hilton Head Island.
