COLUMBUS, GA – The 32nd-ranked Francis Marion University men's tennis team fell to ninth-ranked Columbus State University 7-2 on Sunday (March 2) in Peach Belt Conference action, while the 30th-ranked FMU women's squad was beaten 9-0 by fifth-ranked CSU.
Both FMU teams drop to 5-3 overall and 2-2 in the PBC. The Patriots will return to PBC action on Thursday at 2 p.m. with matches at USC Aiken.
The FMU men captured one of three doubles matches – at No. 2 with Marius Wahlier and Tim Ruepke being victorious – and Patriot freshman Richard Ashford remained unbeaten in singles play (7-0) with a 7-6, 7-6 victory at the No.2 position.
