WINGATE, NC – The 10th-ranked Francis Marion University
women's tennis team and the 20th-ranked Patriot men both claimed
7-2 wins over a pair of nationally ranked Wingate University squads
on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 9).
Both Francis Marion squads improve to 3-0 and will travel to
Hartsville on Sunday to face Coker College at 1 p.m.
FMU won two of three doubles matches on the women's side and
swept all three doubles matches in the men's competition. The
Patriot women then closed out the 30th-ranked Bulldogs with singles
wins at No.1 (Mona Blauen),
No.2 (Tereza
Baranova), and No.4 (Kimberley
Hurter). The FMU men got wins at No.3 (Gavin Davison) and No.4
(Arnaud Holl) singles to record the required five points.
