GREENWOOD - The fifth-ranked Francis Marion University men's
tennis team, and the eighth-ranked Patriot women's squad both
captured Peach Belt Conference wins on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 21)
with road triumphs at Lander University on the Joe Cabri
Courts.
The FMU men defeated 12th-ranked Lander 6-3, while the FMU women
lost only 10 games in singles play en route to a 9-0 victory over
Lander, handing the Bearcats their first loss of the season.
The Patriot Men remain unbeaten at 5-0 overall and 2-0 in the PBC,
while the FMU women are 4-1 and 2-0. It was the men's second
straight win in Greenwood after going 32 years without a victory on
the Lander courts.
