HARTSVILLE, SC - The Francis Marion University men's and women's
tennis teams opened their 2009 seasons with road wins over
local-rival Coker College on Sunday afternoon (Feb. 1).
The fifth-ranked FMU men did not lose a set in cruising to a 9-0
victory over the Cobras. The eighth-ranked FMU women needed
singles wins at the top three spots to edge the Lady Cobras 5-4.
The FMU men will play host to Pfeiffer University on Friday at 2
p.m., while the Patriot women will entertain Division I
Presbyterian College on Feb. 13, at 2 p.m. for their home opener.
