Francis Marion University athletic officials have announced that two former women's basketball players who donned the Patriot red, white, and blue in the late 1990's - Chiffonia "Precious" Adderson and Jennifer Brabson - will be the newest inductees into the FMU Athletic Hall of Fame in 2006.

Fittingly, the two will be enshrined together.  As members of the FMU hoops team between 1996 and 2000, they helped lead the Patriots to a 103-22 record, the 1998 Peach Belt Conference Tournament championship, the 1999 PBC regular-season title, and four trips to the NCAA Division II national tournament, including three trips to the Sweet 16 (1998, 1999, 2000) and one appearance in the Final Four (1998).  Playing for head coach Wes Moore, the two became the first cagers in Peach Belt history to earn All-Conference honors all four years.

Adderson, a native of Nesmith, S.C., and a graduate of Hemingway High School, earned the B.B.A. degree in management information systems in 2002.  She is currently employed as an account manager by ADP Tax Credit Services Inc., and resides in Nesmith.

A four-year starter, the 6-0 center ended her career as one of only five Patriots to amass 1,000 points and 1,000 rebounds in a career.  Adderson is fifth on the Patriot career scoring list (1,897), fifth in career rebounds (1,051), third in career blocks (167), and 11th in career steals (201).  During her career, she recorded 41 double-doubles (points/rebounds) and connected on 51.1 percent of her field goal attempts.  She is currently third on the PBC career list for blocked shots.

Statistically, her best season came during the Final Four run in 1997-98, when she averaged 16.3 points and 8.8 rebounds per game, while shooting 55 percent from the field.  That season, she was named the Most Outstanding Player for the NCAA South Atlantic Regional Tournament.

Adderson was named an honorable mention All-American as a senior, and twice was picked to the PBC Tournament All-Tournament Team.  She was chosen as the PBC Freshman of the Year in 1997, was selected as the FMU team most valuable player in 1997 and 1998, and as a junior and senior was named to the Daktronics South Atlantic All-Region squad.

During her time at FMU, Adderson was a member of Zeta Phi Beta sorority.
