Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University men's basketball junior forward Langston Gaither has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 4-10. Gaither, an Alexandria, Va., native, led the Patriots with 20 points to go along with a team-high in rebounds (6) in a 78-66 season-opening loss to the Georgia College Bobcats on Thursday (Jan. 7). 

He continued to give opposing teams fits as he racked up a career and team-high 26 points, five assists, and four rebounds in a 88-74 win over the Georgia Southwestern Hurricanes on Saturday (Jan. 9). He was 10 of 17 from the field, including 3 of 6 from behind the arc, while shooting 3 of 4 from the free-throw line. His 3 three-pointers vs GSW were among the team's 17 made triples, which equaled the sixth-best single-game team total in program history.
