Junior left-handed pitcher Chas DeBruhl of the Francis Marion University baseball team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 20-26, 2023.

The 6-foot-2 Kershaw, S.C., native went 1-0 last week, handing top-ranked (and defending national champion) North Greenville University its first loss of the season with 5.0 strong innings in a 6-3 Patriot win.  He allowed two runs on four hits with no walks and two strikeouts.

That victory pushed his season mark to 3-1.

The Patriots will play a three-game Conference Carolinas series at Erskine College this weekend, with a single game on Friday at 2 p.m. and a doubleheader on Saturday at 11 a.m.
