Senior Carlos Garre of the Francis Marion University golf team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Sept. 26-Oct. 2, 2022.

Garre carded a 218 total to tie for 28th place at the JT Poston Invitational Tournament hosted by Western Carolina University.  His scorecard included a four-under-par 67 over the final 18 holes, the lowest round of his career.  It was also the 12th lowest round in program history and only three strokes shy of the school record.

The North Myrtle Beach High School product leads the Patriots with a season stroke average of 72.17.

Francis Marion will return to the links on Oct. 17-18 at the Pinetree Intercollegiate Tournament hosted by Kennesaw State University.
