Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University sophomore baseball pitcher Halton Hardy has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 14-20, 2022.

A native of Athens, Ga., Hardy tossed a complete-game 9-hit shutout of Belmont Abbey College in FMU's inaugural Conference Carolinas game.  The Patriots were victorious 1-0, scoring a run in the bottom of the ninth.

Hardy needed only 95 pitches to defeat the Crusaders.  He issued only one walk and struck out six to improve to 2-0 on the season.

Francis Marion will play at USC Aiken on Wednesday at 4 p.m., before traveling to North Greenville University for a three-game conference series this weekend.
