Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University sophomore women's basketball center Lauryn Taylor has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 17-23, 2022.

The 6-0 native of Blythewood, S.C., averaged 18.0 points and 6.0 rebounds per game as FMU captured three road wins last week.  She connected on 61.1 percent of her field goal attempts, including 4-of-8 from behind the three-point arc.  She also recorded four assists, two steals, and a blocked shot.  She converted two lay-ups late to break a 54-54 deadlock and key a 60-54 road win at Erskine College on Wednesday.

Francis Marion will host a pair of Conference Carolinas games this week: Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. against UNC Pembroke and Saturday at 2 p.m. against Erskine College.
