Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University freshman men's basketball center Jonah Pierce has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Nov. 29-Dec. 5, 2021.

The 6-8 first-year player from from Sanford, Fla., averaged 18.7 points and 10.0 rebounds in three games.  He connected on 72.2 percent of his field goal attempts (26-of-36) and registered four assists, three blocks, and three steals.  He posted double-doubles of 19 points/11 rebounds against King University (Tenn.) and 21 points/12 rebounds versus Lees-McRae College.

FMU takes a break for fall exams and will return to action with a pair of road games before Christmas: Dec. 15 at Chowan University and Dec. 18 at Southern Wesleyan University.
