Junior Magdalena Skachova of the Francis Marion University women's tennis team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Mar. 16-22, 2026.

The native of Bustehrad, Czech Republic, went 2-0 in singles at the No.2 position and was 1-1 at the top doubles spot as FMU won a pair of conference matches.

In a 6-1 win over the University of Mount Olive, she defeated Victoria Calle 2-6, 6-3, 6-4 at No.2 singles -- providing the match clinching point -- while she and freshman Janka Juhasz lost a 6-2 decision to Nina Bernier and Simon Szovan at No.1 doubles.

In a 6-1 victory on the road at Ferrum College, Skachova beat Stephanie Porras in straight sets (7-5, 6-2) at No.2 singles, while she and Juhasz beat Bianca Solorzano and Stephanie Porras 6-3 at No.1 doubles.

Francis Marion will host Lander University on Tuesday, before returning to Conference Carolinas play at Shorter University on Friday and at Young Harris College on Saturday.
