Senior middleblocker Caroline Lucas of the Francis Marion University women’s volleyball team has been named the McDonald’s Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Oct. 6-12, 2025.
The Easley, S.C., native averaged 3.75 kills, 1.38 digs, and 0.63 blocks per set in two matches last week, to go along with a .450 hitting percentage. She also recorded one assist and two service aces, while averaging 4.31 points per set. During the week, she became the 12th Patriot to reach 1000 career kills.
Her week included an 18-kill, 4-dig, 2-block performance with a .486 hitting percentage in four-set win over Ferrum College and a 12-kill, 7-dig, 2-ace, 3-block outing with a .400 hitting percentage in four-set road match at Emmanuel University.
The Patriots (10-8, 8-1) will play a key Conference Carolinas East Division match at UNC Pembroke on Tuesday at 6 p.m., in the latest installment of the Battle of I-95. FMU will then host North Greenville University on Friday (Oct. 17) at 6 p.m. and the University of Mount Olive on Saturday (Oct. 18) at 1 p.m.
