Francis Marion University / McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week

Francis Marion University baseball senior catcher Leniel Gonzalez has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Feb. 15-21.

Gonzalez, a Sumter, S.C., native, batted .615 with 4 runs scored in the opening series at North Georgia, Feb. 20-21. He registered seven runs batted in, three home runs, and a double while slugging 1.385. Gonzalez logged multiple hits in each of the three games and an on-base percentage of .643. His 4-hit performance on Sunday, Feb. 21, marks the second 4-hit game of his Patriot career.

He currently ranks tied for first in the Peach Belt Conference in Hitting, alongside Young Harris senior outfielder Tucker Greer.
