Francis Marion University Athletics

Graduate student goalkeeper Alberto Aragoneses Lablanca of the Francis Marion University men's soccer team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of Sept. 9-15, 2024.

A native of Madrid, Spain, Aragoneses Lablanca allowed only one goal in 180 minutes of action last week.  He posted a shutout in a 0-0 tie with 5th-ranked Wingate University on Sept. 11, during which he faced seven shots and made four saves.  On Sept. 14, he earned the win in a 2-1 victory over Southern Wesleyan University in the team's conference opener, during which he faced five shots and made four saves.

Francis Marion (1-1-2) will play host to Catawba College on Wednesday (Sept. 18) at 7 p.m. before traveling to Chowan University on Saturday (Sept. 21) for a 4 p.m. kickoff.
