Francis Marion University Athletics

Freshman Hailey Gaither of the Francis Marion University acrobatics and tumbling team has been named the McDonald's Student-Athlete of the Week for the period of March 25-31.

The Auburndale, Fla., native competed for FMU on March 29 against Converse University.  She registered a 8.625 score out of 9.10 in the 6-element pass of the tumbling competition and paired with two other teammates to score 7.20 (out of 8.50) in the trio pass, also part of the tumbling competition.  In addition, she participated in the four compulsory events, the acro 5-element event, heats one and two of the pyramid event, heats one and two of the toss event, and the quad pass portion of the tumbling event.

This was the final meet of the inaugural season for the Patriot acrobatics and tumbling squad.
