Abdur-Rahim begins her fifth season as an assistant coach for the FMU women's volleyball program.
She was part of the coaching staff that helped lead FMU to the 2021 Conference Carolinas Tournament title and a berth in the NCAA National Tournament.
A native of Orange Park, Fla., she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology from Francis Marion in 2021. A two-year starter and four-year letterwinner for the Patriots, she tallied 749 digs, 462 kills, 118 service aces, and 87 total blocks in 92 career matches. Her service ace total is the 15th highest in program history.Â
She was named the 2020 recipient of the Ray E. Thames Memorial Raise the Roof Frankie Award. She earned Peach Belt Conference Player of the Week honors once in 2018, and would lead the PBC in service aces (54) -- the highest service ace total for a Patriot since the 2007 season -- and aces per set (0.54) that season . She was named to the Peach Belt Conference Presidential Honor Roll in 2018 and 2021 and to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll on three occasions.
She is a product of Bartram Trail High School, where she first-team All-Area, All-Conference, and St. Augustine Record All-County accolades, while also being nominated for Miss Florida Volleyball.
