• Born Makayla Marie Chavis in Raleigh, N.C.
• Graduate of Sanderson High School, where she played for coach Todd Worley
• Four-year starter for the Spartans, who made the NCHSAA 4A state playoffs in each of her seasons
• All-Conference selection as a junior
• Three-time Academic All-Conference performer
• In 2017, helped her team go unbeaten in Region 3 and recorded the lowest goals against average
• 2016 NCYSA state champion

• Interesting Notes:  I have two superstitions which are: I always start with the left side of my body when getting dressed for games for example, left arm goes in my jersey first, left leg goes in my shorts first, etc., and I have to do a handshake with my dad whether it is in person or through the phone
