Biography
FMU: First-year player at FMU....A versatile, smart, and savvy guard, who could play any of the 1-3 positions for us....Much to like about her size and basketball IQ....Comes from a perennial championship program at Goose Creek.....Between her defending, her athleticism and length, and her ability to handle the ball, we expect her to be able to step on the floor immediately and contribute in a variety of ways.....FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll 2020 (spring).
PERSONAL:
- Born Mary Elizabeth Davis in North Charleston, SC
- A graduate of Goose Creek High School, where she played under the direction of coach Tim Baldwin
- As a senior, averaged 5.9 points, 2.2 assists, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game
- Helped the Lady Gators to a 23-1 record and the AAAAA state championship (hit game-clinching free throw in title contest)
- Was a perfect 10-0 in region play
- As a junior, averaged 5.6 points, 3.8 assists, 3.5 rebounds, and 2.2 steals per contest
- A member of Goose Creek’s 2017 state championship squad, and received that season’s Gator Pride Award
- Also played with the Low Country Premier Players Association in AAU competition
- Her father (Calvin) is the girls’ basketball coach at Summerville High School
- Nickname is Mary Lou
