Zaria B. Williams, a native of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., entersher first season on the Francis Marion University bench as anassistant coach.
Her primary responsibilities with the Patriots includerecruiting, on-floor coaching, individual player workouts, pre- andpost-season workouts, and helping in the area of academic supportfor team members.
Williams is a 2004 graduate of the University of West Florida,where he earned a B.S. degree in physical education. Sheplayed two seasons on the Argonauts basketball squad. Shealso attended Okaloosa-Walton Community College, where she playedtwo seasons and earned an A.A degree in general studies.
She later received a M.S. degree in Holistic Education fromMercer University.
Williams comes to FMU from Palm Beach State College in LakeWorth, Fla., where she was an assistant coach. She previouslyserved as an assistant at Pearl River Community College for fourseasons (2008-12), and helped that program rise from seventh in itsconference to second. She also worked as an Academic AthleticCounselor, serving the school's 250 student-athletes.
Her other coaching stints included one year at Lynn University,one season at West Florida, and two years as a graduate assistantcoach at Mercer.
She has also worked with C.A.E.O.S. Foundation Inc. (CreatingAccess to Educational Opportunities through Sports).
