Owen Turner begins his first season as a graduate assistant coach for the Patriot men's soccer program.
Turner is part of the MBA program at Francis Marion. He was a member of the 2024 Patriot squad -- appearing in five matches, including one start -- that captured the Conference Carolinas Tournament championship and advanced to the NCAA Division II Tournament. He was named to the FMU Swamp Fox Athletic-Academic Honor Roll and the Conference Carolinas Presidential Honor Roll for each of the semesters in the 2024-25 school year.
He earned a B.B.A. degree in sports management from Northwood University in Michigan. As a member of the Timberwolves soccer team, he played in 48 career matches and tallied two goals and two assists on 14 shots. He was named to the GLIAC All-Academic Team for 2021-22.
He served as an assistant coach for both the boys' and girls' varsity squads at Midland (Mich.) High School during the 2023-24 school year. He has also served as a private coach, working with clients for the past four years.
A native of Stafford, England, he captained Staffordshire County to the national final in England, where they were named co-winners due to the covid-19 pandemic.
