Black is beginning her second year as a member of the Patriot Sports Medicine staff.
A native of Myrtle Beach, she came to FMU after two years as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Young Harris College, where she worked with the women's soccer and softball programs.
Black earned a B.S. degree in athletic training from Winthrop University in 2019 and then received a master of science degree in kinesiology from the University of North Georgia in May of 2021. She also worked with the Winthrop baseball, women's volleyball, and men's soccer programs while finishing up her undergraduate degree.
She is a BOC certified athletic trainer, a NATA member, a National Provider Identifier, owns South Carolina and Georgia state licensures, and is CPR and First Aid certified.
Black has traveled across the southeast during the past four years serving as a first aid responder for Varsity Spirit Cheerleading and Dance camps.
